Rob Sand for Iowa

10/27/2025

DES MOINES, IA – Rob Sand just concluded his eighth annual 100 Town Hall Tour across Iowa, his first tour as a candidate for governor, visiting all 99 Iowa counties plus the two county seats in Lee county. The tour was an opportunity for Rob to hear directly from Iowans about some of their top concerns, challenges, and what they’d like to see from their next governor, and concluded over a year before the 2026 election.

Here’s a breakdown of the 2025 100 Town Hall Tour by the numbers:

  • 100 Town Halls hosted this year, bringing Rob’s career total to 800 town halls.
  • Over 10,100 attendees across all 100 events.
  • Over 7,000 miles driven.
  • Over 750 non-scripted questions asked by Iowans and answered by Rob.
  • Over 100 local press interviews.
  • Over 50 Trips to Casey’s (at least).
  • 100 verses of America, the Beautiful sang.

Top issues Rob heard on the road for his 100 Town Hall Tour included:

  • The unaccountable school voucher program that gives away public dollars to private schools with no accountability into how those tax dollars are spent.

  • Access to health care, including rising health care costs and attacks on rural hospitals.

  • Sky-high costs on everything from groceries to housing to pharmaceuticals, and the impact on Iowa specifically from the federal tariffs.

  • Iowa’s fast-growing cancer rates and the lack of action from the Reynolds administration on discovering the causes and solutions.

  • Iowa’s water quality problem that is making people sick and closing Iowa beaches.

  • The insiders in Des Moines who have held power for the last ten years but have done nothing to solve Iowans’ problems.

Rob’s town halls were held at various locations across Iowa, including:

  • 41 community centers/buildings
  • 28 small businesses
  • 15 libraries
  • 7 breweries
  • 5 public schools
  • 3 labor halls
  • 2 VFW halls
  • 2 churches
  • 2 farms
