Rob Sand for Iowa

9/16/2025

Town Hall Attendee: “[Rob Sand is] so personable and it’s just refreshing to see that there’s a human that is willing to put others before himself and also understand that this isn’t about party-line politics. It’s about people.”

DAVENPORT, IA – Yesterday, candidate for governor Rob Sand brought his 100 Town Hall Tour to Scott County, where more than 300 Iowans packed themselves into the Quad Cities River Bandits’ Modern Woodmen Ballpark to share their stories and concerns with Rob. At the town hall, Rob emphasized ending political partisanship and division, reversing the privatization of Medicaid, and being a governor for all Iowans.

  • Quad City Times: Rob Sand: ‘The fact that people would be out there celebrating the death of a human being is wrong’

    • “Every single person that is out there, sharing those images or sharing those quotes or saying terrible things about the deceased — we’ve all heard that the phrase ‘don’t speak ill of the dead,’” Sand said. “They can be better than those choices. Those choices are the wrong choices to be made at this moment in American history. We need to come together.”

    • Sand pledged if elected governor, he would veto “all the culture war bills.” “No more picking on people who are different,” Sand said to applause from the audience. He said Iowa elected officials should focus more on authoring bills that address rising cancer rates and water quality.

    • “He’s so personable and it’s just refreshing to see that there’s a human that is willing to put others before himself and also understand that this isn’t about party-line politics. It’s about people,” Stoefen said. “The fact that he’s willing to just listen to people is so admirable in a world where people just speak to listen to themselves.”
