Rob Sand for Iowa

6/22/2026

More than 100 Republicans — and counting — are backing Rob Sand for governor, showcasing his unrivaled cross-party support

DES MOINES, IA – Today, nominee for governor Rob Sand launched “Rob-Publicans,” a new coalition of more than 100 registered Republican voters from across Iowa who are endorsing his campaign for governor.

This growing group of Iowa Republicans are backing Rob Sand because of his proven track record of delivering results for Iowans — from taking on corruption as Iowa’s chief public corruption prosecutor to uncovering tens of millions of dollars in misspent taxpayer money as State Auditor. Rob has built a reputation for rooting out waste, fraud, and abuse, holding politicians in both parties accountable, and always putting Iowans first. Members of the Rob-Publicans coalition support Rob because they know he will be a governor who works for all Iowans — not party insiders or special interests.

“Iowans from all political stripes are coming together because they’re ready for leadership that puts people over politics,” said nominee for governor Rob Sand. “I’m running to be a governor for all Iowans — Democrats, Republicans, and independents alike — because we get better results when we work together rather than continuing down the same path that ten years of one-party control has put us on. I’m proud to have the support of these Rob-Publicans and to see folks reaching across party lines joining a team focused on building an Iowa that isn’t redder or bluer, but better and truer.”

In addition to the over 100 Rob-Publicans endorsing Rob, Team Sand has also received over 1,800 donations from registered Republican voters across Iowa. Rob has three registered Republican donors to every one his opponent has. In March, Rob also submitted a record-breaking number of petition signatures to get on the ballot – 24,756 – the most ever submitted in Iowa election history. Over 5,000 of those signatures came from registered Republican and no-party voters across Iowa – one in every five signatures.

“As a lifelong Republican and the former Mayor of Council Bluffs, I learned early on that successfully overseeing the business of Iowa involves much more than adhering to party politics. Rob Sand has demonstrated a clear focus on solving the problems facing Iowans,” said Matt Walsh, former Mayor of Council Bluffs. “He has proven that he will be responsible with taxpayer dollars and has the management ability to prioritize the most important issues, ultimately making state government work better for everyone. That is why I am proud to endorse Rob Sand for governor.”

“What sets Rob Sand apart is that he does what’s right, not what’s politically convenient,” said Steven C. Noah, former Executive Director of the Republican Party of Iowa. “He’s shown transparency, fairness, and accountability, and he genuinely cares about Iowans. Rob will lead with the kind of common-sense approach our state really needs.”

“It is my pleasure to enthusiastically recommend Mr. Rob Sand for Governor for the state of Iowa,” said Terry LeMaster, Captain (Ret.) with the Council Bluffs, Iowa Police Department. “I’ve had the pleasure of knowing and working with Rob for several years. Of all the different people I’ve known and worked with throughout my thirty eight years in law enforcement, Rob Sand is among the most honest and fair people I know and trust. I’m confident without reservation that Rob Sand would be an excellent Governor for the State of Iowa.”

“As a Republican, I’m supporting Rob Sand because he’s the kind of leader who brings people together instead of driving them apart. I’ve seen too much fighting and anger over politics these last several years, and it’s hurt families, friendships, and communities. Rob isn’t like that. He treats people with respect, listens to different viewpoints, and focuses on getting the job done,” said Jim Steinkuehler, former Crawford County Sheriff. “I believe he’s the kind of leader who can help turn Iowa around and bring people back together. Most importantly, I trust him to look out for taxpayers and put Iowa first. That’s why I believe Rob Sand is the person we need in the governor’s office.”

“I don’t vote for a letter next to someone’s name. I vote for competence, honesty, and results,” said Kevin Stumpf, owner of Marker 126 Truck Stop in Fort Dodge. “Rob Sand believes public officials should answer to the people they serve. That’s not a Democratic or Republican value — it’s an Iowa value. That’s why I’m voting for Rob Sand.”
