Rob Sand Raises Record-Shattering $9.38 Million in Less Than Two Months

DES MOINES, IA – Today, nominee for governor Rob Sand announced raising a record-shattering $9.38 million during the latest fundraising period from May 27, 2026-July 14, 2026. This is over three times the previous record of $2.8 million during the same period in 2018. This is the first fundraising reporting period of the general election, and follows the Sand campaign raising a record-breaking $9.6 million in the first four and a half months of 2026. This record-breaking fundraising haul does not include any money from the candidate’s in-laws or spouse. The campaign is heading into the final four months of the general election with $17.9 million cash on hand.

“Less than four months from Election Day, the Sand campaign is keeping its foot on the gas – and shattering state records along the way,” said Deputy Campaign Manager Emma O’Brien. “This record-breaking haul proves what we’ve been seeing every day on the road: Iowans are ready for a new direction after a decade of one-party rule, not more of the same failed status quo that Kansas political operative Zach Lahn represents. It’s why Iowans from every corner of the state and from all political stripes are joining Team Sand, and it’s why Rob Sand will win in November.”

The campaign has not only received donations from all 99 Iowa counties, but from over 2,400 registered Republicans across all 99 counties. During this reporting period, the campaign received more than 33,500 total contributions with an average individual contribution of $164. Ninety-five percent of donations were $100 or less, and a majority of donations – 68 percent – came from Iowans. This campaign is being powered by working Iowans, including educators, nurses, farmers, law enforcement officials, and laborers.
