Decorah Leader: Decorah Son Aiming for Governor’s Office

DES MOINES, IA – In its year-end look at 2025, the Decorah Leader is highlighting a hometown moment: Decorah native Rob Sand’s campaign for governor.

As the Decorah Leader notes, Rob wrapped up his 100 Town Hall tour back in his hometown in October, talking with more than 300 neighbors about how his upbringing in the community has shaped who he is today and his years of public service. During the town hall, Rob spoke about what growing up in Decorah meant to him, telling the audience “he wouldn’t have grown into the person he is today without his upbringing in the Decorah community.”

Decorah was stop number 100 on Rob’s annual 100 town hall tour – over a year before the election. Over 10,100 Iowans came out throughout the tour to hear directly from Rob about how he’ll bring both parties together to lower costs, strengthen public schools, and fight corruption.
