New Ad Highlights Stakes of Cancer Crisis and Why Zach Lahn is Unfit to Be Iowa’s Next Governor

DES MOINES, IA – Today, the Rob Sand campaign is out with a new ad highlighting the stakes of this year’s election amid Iowa’s ongoing cancer crisis. Titled “Only,” the ad shares the story of  Lansing mom Brooke and her daughter Devyn, who was diagnosed with leukemia at just seven months old and battled chemotherapy as a baby. The ad outlines how Rob has “an actual plan to tackle cancer in Iowa,” while Zach Lahn wants to “ban some lifesaving cancer treatments” and “lives in Kansas.” 

Zach Lahn supports banning mRNA vaccines despite the fact that they can be a promising cancer treatment that can prevent “melanoma from returning or spreading in a late-stage trial of high risk patients.”

“Iowa’s growing cancer crisis has gone unchecked after a decade of one-party rule, but Zach Lahn would only be more of the same failed status quo,” said Rob Sand Deputy Campaign Manager Emma O’Brien. “Rob Sand is the only candidate in this race with a plan to take on Iowa’s cancer crisis head-on, and the only candidate in this race that Iowa families know will answer their call. Iowans don’t want a part-time governor, and Zach Lahn can’t address Iowa’s cancer crisis from two states away.”
