NEW ADS: Rob Sand Launches Ads Featuring Support from a “Tax-Hating Republican” and Warnings from a Cancer Survivor
DES MOINES, IA – Today, nominee for governor Rob Sand released two new campaign ads as part of a six-figure ad buy across all platforms in the state – TV, digital, and streaming. The first ad, titled “One Reason,” features Wayne from O’Brien County, a self-described “tax-hating Republican” that has never voted for a Democrat for governor – until now. Wayne is supporting Rob because he knows he supports low taxes for everyday Iowans as they face a crisis of costs and that he’ll hold corrupt politicians accountable – regardless of party.
The second ad, titled “Down the Road,” focuses on Laurie, a cancer survivor from Earlville. In the ad, Laurie highlights Zach Lahn’s support for cuts that endanger rural Iowa hospitals and his efforts to strip health care away from everyday people. Laurie warns that Zach Lahn won’t have to live with the consequences of his actions because he can just fly back to Kansas to avoid them.

Wayne:
“I’m a Republican for one big reason, and that’s taxes.
I hate paying taxes, and that’s why I’m voting for Rob Sand.
Rob wants low taxes, accountability, and jail time for tax thieves. I know that there’s corruption on both sides.
Rob Sand isn’t afraid to go after either party to keep them from reaching into our pockets even more.
Rob’s done such a great job that he’s actually pissed off both parties, so he’s gotta be doing something right.
I have never voted Democrat for governor, but I am this time. This tax-hating Republican loves Rob Sand.”

Laurie:
“After I was diagnosed with cancer, I actually felt blessed. People came out of the woodwork, offering to drive me for treatment.
But Zach Lahn supports the cuts that put our local hospitals at risk.
I guess when you can fly everywhere, you don’t worry about having a hospital down the road.
And Lahn tried to take away health insurance from people like me who have jobs and have children and families.
It’s just not right.
Zach Lahn won’t be living with the consequences, because he doesn’t even live here.”
