Rob Sand for Iowa

1/8/2026

In 2025, Rob Sand received more than 115,000 donations from over 64,000 individual contributors in all 99 Iowa counties.

DES MOINES, IA – Today, candidate for governor Rob Sand announced his campaign raised more than $9.5 million in 2025, shattering Iowa records by more than double the previous record for the most money raised during an off-year in the state’s gubernatorial campaign history. With $13.2 million cash on hand, the campaign enters the new year with historic grassroots momentum.

This historic $9.5 million haul includes donations from Democrats, Republicans, and independents from all 99 counties in Iowa — including more than 1,200 registered Republicans from 98 counties and over 4,000 “no party” voters — highlighting Rob’s broad, cross-party appeal. Nearly 97 percent of contributions were $100 or less, with an average individual donation of $74, and no corporate PAC money, proving that this campaign is powered by everyday Iowans. A majority of the donations – two thirds – came from Iowans. The figure does not include any self-funding or donations from the candidate’s in-laws.

“Iowans from every corner of the state and all political stripes are supporting Rob Sand as Iowa’s next governor because they know he will put them first and get to work on day one tackling Iowa’s toughest challenges,” said Deputy Campaign Manager Emma O’Brien. “This record-breaking haul is proof that Iowans are tired of the status quo in Des Moines that has left them behind over the last decade of one-party rule, and are putting their hard-earned dollars behind a campaign that prioritizes people over politics and works to build an Iowa that isn’t redder or bluer, but better and truer. From now until Election Day, Rob will keep his foot on the gas and continue meeting voters where they are, talking about the issues that matter, and fighting to improve Iowans’ lives.”

This campaign is powered by the same hardworking Iowans that Rob has spent his career standing up for: teachers, nurses, farmers, construction workers, cashiers, truck drivers, law enforcement officers, electricians, students, bartenders, mechanics, and janitors have chipped in to support this grassroots effort. Since the campaign began, teachers have been the largest group of contributors, with more than 2,100 donating, followed by over 800 nurses and hundreds of Iowans in trades and service jobs that keep our state running.
