Rob Sand Campaign Accepts 4 Debate Offers From Iowa Broadcasters Across the State
DES MOINES, IA – Today, following an initial debate challenge released last month, the Rob Sand for governor campaign announced it has agreed to the following debates for the 2026 general election:
Des Moines Market:
Hosted by Iowa Press
Sioux City Market:
Hosted by KTIV
Cedar Rapids Market:
Hosted by KCRG
Davenport Market:
Hosted by KWQC
“Iowa voters deserve to know where each candidate stands on the key issues they care about. In addition to doing 100 town halls, Rob looks forward to making his case directly to Iowa voters through these four debates,” said Deputy Campaign Manager Emma O’Brien. “We hope our opponent agrees to do the same, but so far it’s been radio silence and dodging questions from Iowa voters and press. If you can’t face the voters, you have no business running for governor.”
The Sand campaign will work with the outlets and the Lahn campaign on scheduling and locations to ensure both campaigns can participate in each debate. If the Lahn campaign does not agree to these debates, the Sand campaign will host a town hall in whichever market our opponent declines to debate in. Rob initially challenged his opponent to these four debates in addition to conducting his own 100 Town Hall Tour across the state. So far, the Lahn campaign has not accepted that challenge and has made rare public appearances, failing to take questions from Iowa voters or members of the press.
