Rob Sand Campaign Responds to Blatant Lie from Randy Feenstra
DES MOINES, IA – Today, Republican candidate for governor Randy Feenstra released a new ad lying about Rob Sand’s record, falsely claiming Rob would refuse to stand to protect American citizens. Immediately following the State of the Union, Rob appeared on WHO’s The Simon Conway Show and answered this question point-blank:
Simon: “If you’d have been in that Chamber, would you have stood up or stayed sat down?”
Rob: “I would have stood up and I would’ve applauded. I think that’s pretty basic…”
Following the release of this bogus attack, the Sand campaign released the following statement in response:
“Rob Sand spent seven years as Iowa’s Chief Public Corruption prosecutor, locking up scammers, taxpayer abusers, thieves, and violent criminals – putting away some of the worst of Iowa’s offenders and holding powerful members of both parties accountable. No one in this race is more committed to public safety and protecting Iowans than Rob,” said Deputy Campaign Manager Emma O’Brien. “These kinds of outright lies are why Iowans don’t trust DC politicians and hate the broken two-choice system. Iowans have had enough, and in November, they’ll vote for the candidate they trust to keep them safe and be a governor for all.”
Rob has been clear about his position on the need for immigration reform after the years of failures by politicians like Randy Feenstra and both parties to make meaningful changes to keep communities safe.
