Rob Sand Joins The MeatEater Podcast to Talk Hunting and Public Service
Rob Sand: “I don’t care if they’re Democrats or Republicans or independents or whatever, I want to work with people who just are focused on trying to do this right.”
DES MOINES, IA – Christmas came early for candidate for governor Rob Sand, who traveled to Bozeman, Montana, to sit down with Steven Rinella for The MeatEater Podcast to discuss his favorite topic – bowhunting. Rob shared the story of harvesting a once-in-a-lifetime 206-inch buck earlier this year through the Des Moines bowhunting program. Rob is one of only a handful of political guests Rinella has had on his show across over 800 episodes.
The two hunters also spoke about what public service means and repairing the broken two-choice system that has failed Iowans – and Americans – by pitting us against each other. The two also discussed Rob’s first job catching capons at 14, and his journey as Iowa’s Chief Public Corruption Prosecutor, to State Auditor, and now candidate for governor.
