Rob Sand Launches New TV Ad Touting “Family Tradition” of Efficiency, Accountability
DES MOINES, IA – Today, candidate for governor Rob Sand launched the second ad of the general election, titled “Family Tradition,” as part of a statewide 6-figure ad buy across all platforms – TV, streaming, and digital.
WATCH:

The ad details Rob’s commitment to efficiency and transparency throughout his two terms as Iowa’s State Auditor – and throughout generations for the “Sand family” from the 1800s, 1980s, and today, brought to life through Rob’s signature humor – and use of wigs and period costumes. The ad highlights Rob’s creation of his signature PIE program – Public Innovations and Efficiencies – to help state agencies save tax dollars, which was copied in two different states, including by the Republican State Auditor of Mississippi, and Rob’s record of uncovering historic amounts of waste, fraud, and abuse before government insiders worked to strip his office of its powers.
“Anyone who knows me knows that I’m serious about being thrifty, especially when it comes to your tax dollars,” said candidate for governor Rob Sand. “Unfortunately, the insiders who have run state government for the last decade of one-party rule have lacked that same commitment, and Iowa families have suffered because of it. Now, we’re dead last in economic growth, have an out-of-control private school voucher program ripping millions away from public schools every year, and face a $1.4 billion budget deficit. As governor, I’ll always protect Iowa tax dollars and put public service – not politics – first.”

“I’m Rob Sand.
Being thrifty is a Sand family tradition that goes back.
And back.
Annnnd back.
That’s why as state auditor, I created new efficiency programs to save your tax dollars and uncovered record amounts of misspent tax money.
Then, politicians changed the law, taking away my power to protect your tax money.
It’s wrong.
As governor, I’ll bring back accountability and make jail mandatory for stealing tax dollars.
You should never be in the dark about your tax money.”
