Rob Sand for Iowa

1/29/2026

DES MOINES, IA – Last night, candidate for governor Rob Sand opened up his first field office in Des Moines, firing up the crowded room of nearly 100 community members who came out to get involved with Team Sand ahead of the critical election in November. This is the Sand campaign’s latest investment in grassroots organizing and community engagement, building on the grassroots momentum over nine months before Election Day.

“You don’t win by sitting on the sidelines — you win by showing up. That’s exactly what we’ve been doing since launching this campaign, and we’re keeping our foot on the gas,” said candidate for governor Rob Sand. “From day one, we have been focused on organizing communities all across Iowa to hear from people directly about their toughest challenges and how to work together to find solutions. Real change comes from volunteers knocking doors, listening to their neighbors, and doing the hard work across our state. I’m excited to continue building on the momentum we’ve seen over the last nine months and to welcome new people into the fold who are with us in making Iowa better and truer, not redder or bluer.”

Since day one, Rob Sand’s campaign has invested in organizing efforts in communities across the state, including hiring an organizing team over 18 months before Election Day to lay the groundwork for the year ahead. Last year, Rob held 100 public town halls attended by over 10,100 Iowans from all political backgrounds, answering hundreds of questions and thousands of voters during the off-year. In the first 24 hours of launching his campaign for governor, over 800 people signed up to volunteer with the campaign, and that number grew to over 1,000 in the first week. Over 7,000 volunteers have signed up to volunteer with Team Sand to date.
