Rob Sand Raises Record-Shattering $16.3 Million in Latest Fundraising Period of Governor’s Race
DES MOINES, IA – Today, nominee for governor Rob Sand announced raising a record-shattering $16.3 million during the latest fundraising period from July 15 through October 14, 2026, nearly doubling the previous record for the same period in Iowa gubernatorial campaign history. This latest fundraising haul builds on Team Sand’s record-breaking momentum throughout 2025 and 2026.
This historic $16.3 million fundraising haul was fueled by support from Democrats, Republicans, and independents in all 99 Iowa counties. Over the course of the campaign, more than 3,300 Iowa Republicans and over 8,000 independents have donated to Rob’s campaign, showing the broad support he’s building across party lines. During this reporting period, the campaign received more than 88,000 total contributions with an average individual contribution of $106.35. Nearly 95 percent of contributions were $100 or less, and nearly two-thirds of all donors are Iowans.
Meanwhile, prior to today’s reports, 93 percent of Rob’s opponent’s contributions came from out of state, with his average donation being over $15,000.
“Iowans across the state and across the political spectrum are rallying behind Rob Sand because they know he’s the leader Iowa needs,” said Deputy Campaign Manager Emma O’Brien. “Hardworking Iowans are supporting Rob because they believe in his vision to lower costs, strengthen public schools, and put people over politics. With just over two weeks until Election Day, Iowans are fired up to turn the page on a decade of one-party control that has left them behind, and are ready to elect a governor who will make Iowa not redder or bluer, but better and truer. That leader is Rob Sand.”
This campaign is powered by the hardworking Iowans who keep our state running: educators, health care workers, farmers, public safety workers, small business owners, electricians, mechanics, social workers, restaurant workers, pastors, truckers, students, and countless other Iowans who are ready for change after a decade of one-party rule.
