Rob Sand Releases New Ad Focused on Education as Iowa Students Return to School for the Year Today

DES MOINES, IA – Today, on the first day of school for many Iowa public school students, nominee for governor and Iowa public school parent Rob Sand released a new ad focused on strengthening public education in Iowa. Titled “Lead,” the ad talks about Rob’s plan to restore Iowa public schools to their former glory as some of the best-ranked in the nation after a decade of one-party control, and keeping culture wars and politics out of the classroom.

“Public education has always been an Iowa value – it’s why we stamped ‘Foundation in Education’ on our quarter. But after a decade of one-party rule, our schools have been hurting. We’re ranking below Nebraska, folks – completely unacceptable,” said nominee for governor Rob Sand. “This is personal to me. I grew up attending Iowa public schools, and now I send my two boys to Iowa public schools. I want them to have the best education possible. As governor, I’ll always put Iowa students and public schools first, and work to get our schools back to the top ratings – and beat Nebraska while we’re at it.” 

This is the latest ad from the Sand campaign, part of a statewide six-figure campaign across platforms – TV, digital, and streaming.

We got two boys, 10 and 12 in Iowa public schools. 

Keeping them safe and healthy, and making sure they get a good education is everything to me. 

Like most Iowa parents, we want to focus on math and reading.

Not political agendas from either extreme.

And like all Iowans, I want us to get back to having the best public schools in the country, not in the bottom half.

We’re losing to Nebraska, folks.

As governor, I’ll fight for Iowa’s public schools because my kids are counting on ‘em, too.
